Aside from prepping your home for winter, there are certain things you can do to make your home winter cozy too.

Additionally, adding warmth and comfort to your home doesn’t mean you need to spend a lot of money, either.

If you are ready for a little winter hibernation, then keep reading!

Below, you will discover some ideal ways to cozy up this year for you and your family to enjoy.

1. Cozy Up Your Home With Smart Space Heaters

Smart space heaters are a great way to make your home winter cozy. And, they are a great way to save on your heating bill, too!

Designed for energy efficiency, smart space heaters can not only warm your home but add that cozy factor, too!

Using them instead of your home’s heating system can end up costing less on your heating bill as well.

If you decide to invest in one, be sure it features thermostat and temperature controls.

Invest in some smart heaters that come with thermostat and temperature control. If that means spending a few more bucks, it’s worth it!

Ideally, the perfect way to cozy up your home is to get a space heater with fireplace visuals. Fake it till you make it I say!

I think using smart space heaters in your home can really add warmth and charm to any room. Give it some thought next time you are modifying your home décor.

2. Throw Pillows And Area Rugs For That Extra Cozy Factor

Anytime you add rugs, throw pillows and assorted seating cushions to your home, they always add a level of warmth to your home.

For instance, it’s no secret I love adding these decorative items to home for every season, especially Fall and Winter months.

In other words, beautiful decorative winter pillows always make any room look warm and cozy, don’t you agree? They are the perfect way to make your home winter cozy.

Above all, using various fall and winter color palettes is another way to bring warmth and coziness to any home.

Additionally, you can also use them for your fashion Fall and Winter collection too!

Fall & Winter Color Schemes

When you up your home décor elements for the winter, try using a combination of the following color schemes:

  • Grey and Mustard or Peach and Grey
  • Olive and Gold or Olive and Wine
  • Denim and Wine or Goldenrod and Wine
  • Tiffany Blue and Brown
  • Mustard and Scarlet or Mustard and Olive
  • Pale Pink and Camel or Scarlet and Camel
  • Violet and Navy or Black and Navy
  • Camel and Orange
  • Chambray and Leather
  • Mint and Purple or Mint and Yellow
  • Wine and Leopard
  • Emerald and Mint or Emerald and Black
  • Camel and Melon or Melon and Teal
  • Demin and Chartreuse
  • Pink and Snow, Pale Pink and Olive, or Black and Pink

I love using those color guidelines to help me decide which palette I choose for my Fall and Winter décor.

Similarly, you can also try adding some cushy and fluffy area rugs to your home to make your home winter cozy.

Not only do they keep your cold and tired feet nice and warm, but they look divine and you can keep them within your budget.

Particularly, I love using them in my kitchen, hallways, living room, and bathrooms for that extra pop of cozy factor.

Of course, you’ll want to add some soft and cozy throws to your sofa and chairs as well.

Decorative throws always look so warm and inviting and they are the perfect way to make your home winter cozy.

3. Upgrading Your Bed – And Finally, Make It Cozy And Comfortable

Maybe it’s time for you to get a new mattress, or at least think about it.  I know it’s time for us to upgrade ours.

Consequently, our mattress is well over ten years old and yes, it’s time. You can always tell when your old mattress hit the end of the road.

I think fall and winter is a great time to get a new one, especially after Labor Day. I notice some heavy discounts during this time, and that’s the perfect time for me!

Replacing your old mattress will make your home winter cozy as well. There’s no better feeling than climbing into brand new bedding especially a new mattress.

Of course, based on your body type and sleeping habits, you’ll determine if this type works for you.

Our bed is our sanctuary and we deserve getting the type that fits our needs and comfort level, don’t you agree?

There are many factors to consider when upgrading your mattress so do your due diligence!

Currently, we are looking into an Ecosa or Sleeping Duck mattress. I hope my husband agrees with the type I like best!

4 – Candles, Essential Oils, And Dried Flowers

Furthermore, fall and winter is the perfect time of year for adding delicious fragrances to make your home winter cozy.

During this time of year, we give ourselves permission to overload our senses with scents like apple, cinnamon, cashmere, alder, pumpkin, espresso, chocolate and many more.

For example, place some wintery scented candles in areas you spend time lounging, working, and yes, even sleeping.

Moreso, adding things like wintergreen essential oils to your aromatherapy diffusers the perfect way to add some romance to your rooms as well.

Personally, I love lighting up my Bath and Body Works Blue Winter Sky candle to make me feel warm and cozy in the wintertime.

Recently, we got a BenQ portable home projector and love it! It’s the perfect way to snuggle up with your loved ones and enjoy watching your favorite videos and pictures anywhere, even outside.

In fact, they are perfect to bring in your outdoor space with a nice warm fire, a hot cup of chocolate cocoa, and some blankets and enjoy all of your family’s pictures too

After all, there’s something very romantic about watching old classic movies together on a projector. It’s a great way to snuggle up with someone you love and enjoy some quality time too.

6 – Add Decorative & Safety Lighting Indoors And Outside Your Home

The last tip we must share to make your home winter cozy is, of course, adding lighting elements.

Principally, lighting is the perfect way to not only add beautiful décor to your home but also a great way to secure your home as well.

Unfortunately, last week, we experienced an incident next door with our neighbors and now have plans to add a Ring Floodlight Security Camera between our two homes.

Even though we have several video cameras around our property, and that’s how we caught the guy, adding this floodlight will give us even more coverage.

As far as indoor lighting, you can add some ambient lighting as a decorative element inside your home.

I love adding indoor lighting to every room in my home. It’s the perfect way to make your home winter cozy and create a safer environment too.

Additionally, I hope you were able to get some creative ways to cozy up your home this winter. I’m so excited to decorate my home for fall and winter soon too!
