5 Quick And Easy Ways To Spruce Up Your Outdoor Space
You don’t have to work hard to get your outdoor space in shape. There are some easy tips and tricks to help you get you there. It doesn’t matter if you have a small or large outdoor space and either can be overwhelming when it comes to sprucing it up for summer. Well, here are some ideas for getting your space perked up and looking great!
Add A Pop Of Color To Your Patio Furniture. Adding decorative seat cushions can immediately add that pop of color you need in your outdoor space. Our patio set works perfectly in our space but it was so plain. I decided to add some cushions and bam! They added just the right amount of color and pizzazz.
Our backyard space is small but that doesn’t stop me from trying to make it comfortable, colorful, and a warm and welcoming space for friends and family to visit. And the hubby and I just love sitting back there enjoying meals and each other company.
There is always a huge assortment to choose from.
Paint Your Existing Patio Furniture. If you have patio furniture that’s looking a bit worn around the edges don’t replace it. Repaint it! My set is only about 4 years old but from all the use and weather, it started getting a little worn in spots.
A quick touch up around the edges and it’s as good as new!
I also repainted my wrought iron love seat and my plant stand. It really perked them back into life and was easy peasy too! I used spray paint for the love seat and it was so quick and easy!
I love the black metallic paint. It really makes it sparkle and looks brand new again.
And my plant stand came back to life too! All you need is a little paint and some patience.
And Of Course, Add Some Colorful Beautiful Plants! I love adding flowers and shrubs. Whether they are perennials or annuals, adding some plant life to your outdoor is a guaranteed way to spruce up your space. If you go to the discount racks at stores like Lowes and Home Depot, you can score some beautiful flower with a mark down of over 50%!
My front yard as well as my backyard, are not that large of a space and yet, I was able to add some stunning shrubs and flowers by spacing them out and planning ahead. Here are some of the beauties that grace my space.
By adding shrubs and perennials to your garden your space is transformed instantly.
A new addition this year. My beautiful lavender shrub. I know by mid-summer, she will be displaying beautiful flowers.
This red vine variegated shrub is a butterflies delight and adds color and volume to our front yard.
Another new addition!
This lilac shrub bloomed mid-May and filled my house with its scent day and night.
Add Lightening! It’s not as difficult to add lightning as you might think. It brings a beautiful atmosphere to your space and creates a magical outdoor oasis. Lights are perfect for your backyard. We can relax and have beautifully lit gatherings at night now that I’ve added some ambient lighting.
I love the landscape lighting out front too. It is perfect for both atmosphere and security. You can read all about the lighting kit we used here. In total, there are about 9 path lights in the front yard.
The flood lights in the backyard were easy to install and again are great for security and atmosphere.
Elevate Your Potted Plants. By elevating them, you create dimension and depth to your space. I had an antique table that I painted and used it to elevate my potted plants and garden decor. These work perfectly for smaller outdoor spaces too. Ladders are another great way to elevate your plants. They are charming and need little or no maintenance.
This stand works great for my front yard space. And since it’s wrought iron, it requires no maintenance at all!
