You Will Love These Top 10 Amazing Fragrance Hacks
There are many things that bring me joy and fragrance is one of them. These fragrance hacks are going to make you get the most bang for your fragrance buck!
Let’s face it, perfume is expensive. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you are using your spending dollars wisely when purchasing. There’s something so very special about finding that perfectly purchased perfume that seems as if it were designed just for you. And, if you are smart, you can make your fragrance fun cash go further.
Here are some fragrance hacks I’ve learned that are tried and true, but first, I want to clue you in on some of my fragrance tips that saved me the most money. I only shop for my perfume at one place. Yep, I used to purchase my perfumes in fancy department stores until I discovered the best place to make my fragrance purchases.
FragranceOutlet.com and I have a beautiful relationship, and it’s one I intend on keeping. I’ve shopped in their stores as well as online and always get terrific deals and outstanding value.
When shopping for fragrance, everything matters. That’s why The Fragrance Outlet means so much to me. From their customer service to the selection, there’s no better place for fragrance shopping. The Fragrance Outlet is one of the nation’s largest retailers of genuine designer fragrances and related accessories.
Last Christmas, I purchased all of my husband’s favorite cologne in their new location that opened near me, and he was thrilled. I was able to save so much money that I was able to get myself a perfume too! While I love shopping for fragrances for myself, I also love shopping for my husband’s favorite colognes too! Every holiday I always make it a point to pick up some of his favorite colognes and he is always thrilled about it. It’s always a good idea to take notes throughout the year to see what his favorite colognes are this way you have a list ready to go when you need it.
They were originally founded in 1990, The Fragrance Outlet, Inc. owns and operates over 100 Fragrance Outlets and designer fragrances stores. Their first store, Fragrance Outlet, made its début in November 1990 in Potomac Mills Mall, just outside of Washington, D.C
The concept for Fragrance Outlet was simple – offer the widest selection of genuine designer fragrances, sold by knowledgeable, friendly staff at affordable prices. The formula was foolproof, and the store was an overwhelming success. Throughout the next few years, Fragrance Outlet expanded its presence in the fragrance market, opening stores in the best outlet centers across the country and Guam. Fragrance Outlet, Inc. continues to grow with expansion plans exceeding 100 stores over the next several years.
Now, The Fragrance Outlet is prepared to build upon its successful foundation and provide their loyal customer base with an online venue for purchasing designer fragrances at affordable prices – without ever leaving the comfort of home. I’d also like you to meet my latest addition to my fragrance family I got from their website FragranceOutlet.com.

Now, for the fragrance hacks! Enjoy!
1 – Storing Your Fragrance:
As a rule, never store your perfume in your bathroom or any other damp places that might be too warm. Weather conditions can break down the perfume and ruin the delicate quality of your perfume. We spend a lot on our perfumes and that investment needs to be protected like any other. Be sure to store your fragrances in dry places such as your dresser, vanity, or any other places away from windows or harsh weather conditions. I store mine on top of my dresser with a beautiful glass tray I found at TJ Max. They always have hidden treasures there.
2 – Wear Time Getting More:
I remember hearing years ago that if you rub a drop of Vaseline on your pulse points and then spray your perfume, it will hold on to your fragrance longer. Well, this hack really works! I’ll use this tip for those special events where I want my fragrance to last the entire day and not have to worry about reapplying.
3 – Layering Fragrances:
The act of layering fragrances has been around for years. And for good reason, it works. Generally, there are two ways to do this – you can layer an unscented lotion before you apply your perfume. This is great for fragrance retention because the moisturizer locks in your fragrance and doesn’t interfere with the scent of your perfume. You can also use lotions from the same company to layer. This will also extend the wear-time of your fragrance as well.
4 – Scenting Your Hair:
Having your hair smell just as good as the rest of you is a definite must do but spraying perfume directly on your hair can be very drying. Instead, spray your hairbrush with your perfume and then brush your hair. Your hair will smell just as desirable as the rest of you. There are perfumes specifically designed for your hair but why incur and extra expense if you don’t have to?
5 – Fragrance Terms:
Be sure to make yourself familiar with common fragrance terminology. It will not only help you determine which fragrances work best for you but also help the sales associate determine what scents to introduce you to. Here are some common terms you must know! Be sure you know the differences between a Body Splash, Eau De Cologne, Eau De Toilette, Eau De Parfum, and Extract De Parfum or Fragrance Oils.
Pay Attention to The Notes: These are called the Volatility Grouping. There are three groupings – Top, Middle, and Base notes in all perfumes.
Top notes are otherwise called the headnotes. They form a person’s initial impression of perfume and thus are very important in your immediate impression of the fragrance. The top is not the first scent you smell after spraying and generally fades quickly.
The Middle Notes are also called the “heart notes”. The scent of middle note compounds is usually more mellow and “rounded.” Scents from this note class appear anywhere from two minutes to one hour after the application of a perfume. For example, lavender and rose scents are typical middle notes. Middle or Heart Notes is the scent that develops after the top note evaporates.
The Base Notes are the scent of a perfume that appears close to the departure of the middle notes. The base and middle notes together are the main themes of perfume. Base notes bring depth and solidity to a perfume. The base notes are the scents that linger and last the longest.
6 – Waste Not!
When down to the last few drops of perfume, don’t ditch it! Instead, add those last few drops into an unscented lotion and there you go! This hack lasted for weeks, and I was able to layer my fragrances with it too. It’s a win-win!
7 – Sampling Scents:
When testing out new perfumes make sure to spritz and go! Never make a purchase until you’ve worn that scent for at least an hour. Depending on your body chemistry, fragrances can be greatly altered. That’s why it’s best to wait and allow the perfume to gel with your own body chemistry first.
8 – Apply Fragrance to Pulse Points:
As we have been told, heat activates perfume therefor by applying to pulse points, the warmth generated by these points will keep your perfume on much longer.
Typical pulse points are:
♥ Behind the ear
♥ Inside the wrist
♥ The base of your throat
♥ Inside your elbow and
♥ Behind the knee
9 – Don’t Rub!
Never rub your wrists together when applying perfume. Rubbing actually breaks down the molecules and greatly diminishes the scent. One of my favorite fragrance hacks for sure!
10 – Protect Your Jewelry:
Never spray perfume directly onto your jewelry. It can cause some serious damage to your treasured pieces causing discoloration and removal of their coating too!
And remember – Perfume Should Be Discovered, Not Announced!
