Copycat Sabrett Pushcart Style Onions In Sauce 

Ingredients

  • 2 Large Vidalia Onions
  • 1/4 cup Cooking Oil - any type will do we use canola oil.
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • Garlic and Onion Powder to taste
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, fry chopped onions in oil on medium heat.
  2. When onions are golden brown, remove from stove and let cool.
  3. Add water, ketchup, tomato paste, and seasoning.
  4. Cook on medium heat until the mixture starts to boil!

Once you eat hot dogs with these Sabrett pushcart style onions, there’s no going back! However, I love Nathan’s hot dogs best, so give them a try and see for yourself!

The best part is that it’s super easy to make and only takes about 15 minutes to complete. Please note, after discovering this recipe, I found it to be as close as possible to the original Sabrett Pushcart style recipe. If you don’t like it, which I doubt you will, don’t use it. I’m sure you can find one that works for you.
