Did you ever wonder about the proper etiquette when it comes to wearing hats indoors? Believe it or not, there are some good rules to follow. Hats are back in style again and this age-old question surfaced with on ongoing debate!

Proper Etiquette? – Wearing Hats Indoors
It all started when I got a hat for Father’s Day for my husband. Since he is a hat lover I knew it would be the perfect present. I decided to give him his Scala EDGEWOOD Safari Hat from Tenth Street Hats a few weeks early, and of course, he loved it!

Isn’t it awesome? OK, back to the hat etiquette question. He loves wearing hats so much, that he even wears them indoors. That’s when I started doing research if it’s proper etiquette wearing a hat indoors. Of course, I had to share what I found with you too!

The first website I researched about the topic was Emily Post – if you never heard of her, her name has become synonymous, at least in North America, with proper etiquette and manners. Her book is fabulous too!
A half-century after her death, her name, and works appear in etiquette books all across the globe.

Below, you’ll find some of the basic rules that apply to anyone wearing a hat indoors.
The folks over at Tenth Street Hats recently conducted a survey that solved the age-old debate of whether or not it’s acceptable to wear a hat indoors.
They found, despite some people – 44% to be exact – saying it wasn’t, and 56% of people now say it’s acceptable to wear a hat indoors. I think it’s safe to say that an outfit is officially not complete without a hat.
