URBAN DECAY Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion
URBAN DECAY Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion
The best anti-aging primer you will ever use! I recently purchased the URBAN DECAY Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion, and I must say how pleased I was overall with its performance. I’ve tried several other eyeshadow primers and found them all very drying to the eyelid. It’s priced at $24.00 which seems steep, but remember there is a lot of product and a little goes a long way.
The product texture is really nice – it feels silky to the touch and blends well on the eyelid. It was the first time in all my years of using an eyelid primer, where my eyelid did not feel dry and parched after placement.
It actually felt moisturized and supple, begging for eyeshadow placement. As you can see in the image below, the color match was pretty right on with my natural skin tone. It was creamy and easy to apply.
I really did notice some benefits of anti-aging properties helping minimize fine lines and imperfections. This product seemed to soften the lines and discolorations. I also loved how it applied underneath my eyes as well.
According to Urban Decay:
- In an 8-week clinical study:
- 100% of participants had a measurable improvement in the appearance of fine lines
- 100% had measurably brighter skin
- 97% had a measurable improvement in radiance and clarity
The thing to remember do not overuse – all you need is a tiny amount on each eyelid. All you need to do is smooth on just a touch of Primer Potion and then lay down color while the primer is fresh. It acts as an eyeshadow magnet, giving you vibrant color with less shadow. You’ll look just-applied all day.
This should last a year or more even if you wear makeup every day. First time I used this, I applied my makeup around 10 AM and when I checked at 3 PM, it was just as perfect. Checked again at 6 PM, and I couldn’t believe it. Not one crease or smudge.
One feature I’m not crazy about is the product cap. I find when I take caps off and place them down – I tend to lose them. They can get thrown out in a tissue at my makeup station, roll onto the floor – I’m just not a fan of separate caps. While I do think a doe-foot applicator would have worked great here, I do like being able to control the exact amount of product I need.
Bottom line – I am a fan of this product and will be sure to use it each time I apply makeup. I love how it moisturizes my eyelids and leaves them in the perfect state for eyeshadow application.

Thanks for reviewing this product! Always curious how the anti-aging works. Thanks for being so honest too! :)
Hi Amy! Glad you enjoyed the review. It’s totally worth the money. Primers can be so frustrating at times…so drying. I think you will love it if you try it. Thanks so much for commenting and stopping by.

It sounds really similar to like NYX’s pore filler (although NYX has no anti-aging help!) I hate little caps too! I am always losing them, and then what?…
Hey Anna! I adore NYX makeup…haven’t tried their pore filler yet. The UD one is amazing…..it makes such a difference it’s noticeable!

Very good to know. I especially like hearing that after hours of application you still have no crease.
I will remember to look for Urban Decay at Ulta the next time I am there.
This primer is amazing. Other primers dry your eyelids out and cause wrinkles (little buggers) to look even worse. This is the only primer I found that does not do that! Let me know if you love it!

oh yeah…and we all get crazy over those creases!
