How To Make Perfect Mashed Potatoes in 7 Minutes
We are huge fans of mashed potatoes. We make them all year round even in the hot summer months. There’s one problem though – they take so long to make and are a lot of work.
And, that pot of water! That huge pot of water sitting on top of the stove waiting to boil – gosh, that alone is a huge turnoff right?

In fact, it makes use of 70% less energy than the traditional cooking methods to cook your food. You use a lesser amount of water than you would use in any other utensil or appliance.
Finally, because all the cooking takes place in a completely sealed environment inside the cooker, there are no spillover, no stains, and definitely no funny smells in the kitchen.
Of course, it arrived packaged perfectly to my home!
Unlike other pressure cookers, this Avalon Bay Pressure Cooker features a stainless steel cooking basket – other pressure cookers have a Teflon coating and it can go through a lot of wear and tear and starts to break down. With this stainless steel basket, you never have to worry about that plus, it cooks food more evenly!
I also love the lid! It features a lid that locks onto the pressure cooker so you don’t have to worry about constantly removing it and looking for a clean place to place it on the counter. You can easily leave it in a locked position or remove it when you need to!
Now, let’s get to the mashed potatoes cooked in the Avalon Bay Pressure Cooker in 7 minutes!
Once the pressure builds in the cooker ( that generally takes a few minutes) all you do is set the cooker for the allotted time. I had my setting on manual for 7 minutes.
I peeled my potatoes and quartered them. Made sure I didn’t overfill the cooker – I used 5lbs of potatoes and they fit perfectly! All I had to do was add about 1 cup of water, salt and pepper, and bam! Done!
Once I released the steam, I added butter and a drop of milk and that was it! I even mashed them in the pressure cooker’s basket! So mess, no fuss, and I had delicious mashed potatoes in no time at all!
I poked my forked into them to make sure they were done and you can see how they perfect to the touch of my fork!
Perfectly creamy and delicious! And to think they were cooked in literally 7 minutes! This adds a whole new meaning to how easy holiday cooking will be. It was always the mashed potatoes that held things up.
They ended up cold, and I had to wrap them in aluminum foil once I had them on the table. Look at all the money you will save too! Less water, less cooking time, and no more expensive foil!
Creamy, dreamy, and delicious! No more messy pots and pans, no more waiting – it was amazing!
