Spice Up Your Kitchen With Mosaic Tiles You Can Make Yourself!
Breaking up some old tiles and crafting them into something wonderful is easier than you thought!
I really enjoy working with broken ceramic tiles. You can do so much with it when crafting. I created this before I started blogging so I don’t have images of the process available. It’s really easy to do – honest!
And, I went to my local tile distributor and they gave me loads of tiles they were throwing out so it was a win-win! You can do that too. Find a local tile company and ask them – you would be surprised at how many tiles they throw away.

I broke up some tiles and got the color grout I wanted and bam! I created some designer tile work on the ends of my kitchen island. I think it’s so much nicer than painting it.

When I saw the sides of my kitchen island looking so blah. I knew I had to do something creative with it. With that said, I decided to create some tile work using colors central to my granite counter-top. It’s not difficult to remove if someday I should get bored and redo both sides again. The level of difficulty was moderate.
Here are the final results! I really do adore how this turned out. I get so many compliments when folks walk into my kitchen.
As you can see, it was just a plain white post before. Just by adding some broken tiles and glass beads it really transforms the kitchen.

All you need is some broken tile and grout. Now you can go to work and be as creative as you can!
This project was one of my favorites. I am a sucker for the uniquely visually appealing. Adding various textures, colors, and geometric shapes to your home really speak volumes about your style and sass!
