Even if we are a clean freaks, there just might be three places we all forget to clean. I make it a point to clean these four places at least once a month. You might not know it but your home has some cringeworthy dirty areas.
Whether doing the dishes, vacuuming or dusting, we just have a million better things to do. We all hate cleaning but, with some awesome tips, we promise it can be so much easier!
Warning: If really gross dirt triggers you, you just might cringe!

Ever wondered why we often get sick or have other health problems? Maybe we need to take a closer look at the smaller things we miss in our own homes. If you are like me, I’m always looking for some awesome cleaning hacks to make cleaning easier.
OK, so now you have cleaning hacks and the products to get the job done perfectly! That’s great but, there are some areas we all forget to clean.
So, let’s begin tackling these cringeworthy dirty areas.
Shower Caddy Cringeworthy Dirty Areas
We can’t say this enough. While you might be a clean freak, there can be areas in your home you forget to clean. Keeping your home clean is vital to the health of your family.
Let’s face it, we spend a small fortune on excellent cleaning products to help us get the job done right.
One of them is the shower caddy. Yep, that shower caddy can get really nasty and fast!
While it’s easy enough to restore or replace your shower caddy, cleaning it often enough is another story.

If you are like me, we buy way too many showering beauty products, right? Oftentimes, we place them to the back of the caddy and easily forget about them. Or, maybe you just didn’t notice the mold and mildew building on them.
Below, you can see what happens to a few of these products when they are neglected. Gross, right? Cringeworthy for sure!
It’s so important to give all of your shower beauty products a good cleaning. Be sure and do this every week. Take them all out of the caddy, place them in your bathroom sink, and spray them with a good disinfectant cleaner.
I love using Fantastik with Bleach. All you need to do is spray them down, let them sit for a few minutes, and rinse them clean. The bleach helps to kill mold and mildew from building up too.
While you are at it, be sure to clean the shower caddy as well.
Another great tip for keeping mold and mildew from building up in your bathroom is an easy one. After showering, be sure to keep your shower doors open for a few hours. This lets the air flow dry everything down faster deterring mold from building up.
The Air Conditioning Duct
Some of us live in extremely hot places. And of course, existence isn’t possible without a good air conditioning unit.
So many people overlook the essential and straightforward maintenance procedures and are at risk of their health.
Studies have shown that indoor air pollution due to fungi, chemicals, and bacteria poses a greater risk to human health than outdoor pollution.
It only requires a small amount of these nasties to enter your system to spell long-term trouble for you and other residents.
We can attribute sinus infections, allergies, respiratory infections, and asthma attacks to an unclean air system. A simple cleaning of the duct can prevent these harmful molecules from blowing around your home at any time.
You might have to remove the air duct to clean it but that’s easy enough to do. I make sure to remove our bathroom vents as well once a month. The amount of dirt in them will shock you!
Often though, they aren’t easy to clean or fix, so that’s why you need a professional. Some can be expensive, but not all, as there are very affordable air conditioner repair services out there.
We called professionals to clean and maintain our air conditioning system several times since we bought our home. It’s so important to have a yearly air conditioner check-up done as well.

The Light And Ceiling Fixtures
Let’s face it, cleaning your beautiful crystal chandelier is a huge PIA! If you don’t clean it at least once a month, dust and debris will become out of control.

A very obvious and yet seldom cleaned area is above the fancy lights we have in our kitchen, lounge, in fact, many rooms in our beautiful homes.

Below, you can see how nasty a dishwasher can become when it’s neglected. It’s always a great idea to use a good dishwasher cleaner at least once a month to keep it clean.
Because a dishwasher has constantly altering conditions, wet to dry and hot to cold, these will actually increase the growth rate of certain bacteria and pathogens.
The health risks of the dishwasher are akin to that of a shark attack, meaning that the risk is low to none.
But people with a compromised immune system are at risk as they are susceptible to the bacteria and fungi within.
And, who wants to own a dirty dishwasher anyway? It’s gross and nasty and embarrassing too!
The dishwasher cleaning process is quite simple. If you don’t want to purchase a cleaner for it, you can make one. An example is the use of good old white wine vinegar. It’s great for killing bacteria in warm environments.
You can also place vinegar in a safe-to-use container into the dishwasher, run on a hot cycle, and this should help solve the problem.
Recently, I replaced my dishwasher utensil basket too. After a few years, they tend to get nasty too.
