5 Of the Best DIY Home Improvement Tutorial Resources You Need To See
Why pay when you can DIY? When it comes to a good DIY tutorial, most of us really appreciate them. With household budgets tightening and the holidays approaching, we all would rather tackle a project ourselves than hire someone else to do it.
I have a bunch of DIY tutorials bookmarked that I always like to refer to as well as a running list of projects too and I’d like to share my top five with you today.
Discover The Best DIY Home Improvement Tutorials!
1 – Home Depot Ideas & How-to’s – Everyone shops at Home Depot right? Well, did you know they have an excellent Ideas & How-To’s website where you can get hundreds of awesome tutorials and inspiration? This is one of my favorite places to get ideas and the best step-by-step guided tutorials on the net. Be sure to check out the listing of categories on the right as there are loads of great ideas and how-to’s listed there!
Even though my house is only 12 years old, I would really like to update some of the baseboards. I just love this idea! Be sure to check it out.
2 – The Family Handyman – This site is jam-packed with so many inspiring and detailed DIY tutorials. His “about me” page says “The Family Handyman is the DIYers best friend, offering a variety of print and digital resources for do-it-yourself homeowners. Our forte is accurate and complete how-to instructions for improving homes, yards, and vehicles.
With a huge array of categories to choose from, you are bound to find the next DIY project easily!
My friend and tribe mate Sue from Househaboodle features some of the most dreamy DIY projects in addition to bringing us some of the most stunning homes from all over the globe! I’m so inspired by her latest project How To Make a Recessed Wainscoting Wall From Scratch.
Her hubby Tim is a DIY master and the both of them make an incredible team! I just love all the excellent work they are doing in their home. Be sure to check Housekaboodle for some dreamy inspiration and a tour of some of the top house in the country!
3 – Ask The Builder – Tim Carter’s site Ask The Builder is jam-packed with DIY Tips, tool reviews, project guides, before & alters discounts, giveaways & much, much more. There is always something wonderful to learn there. His welcome video is so warm and friendly. He makes you feel like a friend and he is guiding you along your DIY projects.
4 – DoItYourself.com is the leading independent home improvement and home repair website. It has been repeatedly honored among the Best on the Web and was named “One of the Top 50 Sites in the World” by Time Magazine. In addition to its extraordinarily broad list of topics, it operates the most active home improvement forums on the Internet, enabling consumers to get personalized advice from professionals in over 100 subjects.
They have a huge assortment of How-Tos with detailed DIY tutorials. This is one of my favs for sure!
5 – Better Homes & Garden Home Improvement – We’ve hit the motherload of DIY! Here, you’ll find everything from how to change a doorknob to prepping your house for winter. Another one of my top favs. I can peruse this site for hours and find inspiration everywhere!

6 – Nations DryWall – Starting at the age of 17 in 2001, Richard Nation, worked with a drywall repair company out of Clearwater, FL. until 2006 when he moved to the St.Louis, MO. area. He is a drywall expert and has a comprehensive e-book that will teach you everything you need to know about DIY drywall.
He stated, “It was after I realized that there are many people out there wanting to save money, that I should write-up one of the most detailed “Do it yourself Drywall” books out there. Be sure to check it out. Why pay when you can DIY! Click on the link below to check it out.

I love going to Home Depot. We don’t have too many do-it-yourself- things in our home, but I enjoy seeing others do it.
I get so focused on my own niche that I completely forget there is so much information on OTHER topics to take advantage of. Thank you for a terrific list of resources! It got me thinking that there’s probably loads of videos on gardening, which would entertain me for hours!

Wow this is a fantastic resource. I totally admire people who can do home improvement stuff themselves but I’m not sure we’re brave enough to try some of this! We like to call the professionals!
