You don’t need to spend a fortune to create an elegant lighted floral centerpiece or arrangement.  In fact, this centerpiece cost me about $22 All you need is a little creative energy and design away! I’m always in search of crafting projects that involve using lights especially battery operated lights as you can place them just about anywhere.

It all started when my son gave me these beautiful roses. I knew I had to dry them and make something beautiful.

They turned into this after drying them out. I place a rubber band around the bottom of them, turn them upside down, and hang them someplace warm for a few days. I ended up with these.

Then I went to Big Lots and picked up these items. You can get them at Wal-Mart or any craft store. Any river rocks and LED lights will do. Look at how inexpensive they were!

I picked up two bunches of inexpensive artificial flowers in the colors of my choice, some river rocks, and the lights. I already had the vase so the rest was easy!

And this is what I created! I have to say how much I love it. It makes such a huge difference and adds warmth to my dining room when the lights are out.

You’ll get years of use from these beauties. I’ve had one going on 4  years now and it looks as good as it did the day I created it.

Simple and inexpensive! Just the way I like it. Why pay for a designer centerpiece when you can create one of your own?

  1. Thanks so much Carol lol. I really appreciate that lovely compliment! I’m always amazed at how the small things in your home can make such a wonderful and welcomed change. And it was so inexpensive to make! Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. That’s beautiful! I use to love keeping fresh flowers in my house, that is until I discovered my cats liked them too. I’d put them out and by morning I’d have nothing but a pile of shredded leaves and flowers.

  3. Hi Cat, oh no! lol I used to have a cat so I know exactly what you mean. Maybe there is something you can spray on them to make them like them so much lol. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Have a great week!

  4. Hi and love this idea to do with left over flowers to keep them longer. Can’t wait until the next time to get flowers which will probably be Valentines Day.

  5. As passionate as I am about gardening and flowers, I am a terrible flower arranger. I have to had over that responsibility to my daughters who do it so effortlessly.

  6. Hi Kathy, I used to be awful at arranging too until one day I took my time and started following some examples online. I think when you don’t put too much thought into arranging and just let your creative side kick in that helps a lot. Thanks much for stopping by and commenting. Have a wonderful weekend!

  7. Beautiful like always! I wonder how you get the ideas for all the DIY stuff you post on your blog.

  8. I really like the arrangement! It’s really simple, but it has a wide variety of flowers that go really well together. I wouldn’t have thought of putting the lights in, though. That’s definitely an excellent addition to the whole setup.

  9. Sassy, the flower designs that you created are quite beautiful and it seems like you sure know about doing this. You know, it does remind me about what to tell my sister’s florist when it comes to designing bouquets for her. Well, mostly because her prom is coming up and so my mom asked me to find a florist that can create flowers like the ones in the picture.

  10. Hi Correy, So glad you like the centerpiece. It’s so nice to be creative and make things yourself. If you make one please be sure to stop back and show me a pic. Thanks much for stopping by and commenting.

  11. That is really cool that you use fake flowers and arrange them so nicely. Not having to arrange new ones every week or so would be really nice. Having a professional florist arrange them would be cool to, because then you have it done perfectly for so long.

  12. Thank you Sarah, I used a mix of artificial and read dried roses for this one. Yes, that would be nice but I’m sure expensive at the same time. I took the cheap way lol. I think they look so beautiful in my home. I really love making them. Thanks much for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon.

  13. Your floral arrangement looks great! I hadn’t thought of adding little lights to a flower display, but it adds a lot of charm and beauty to it! Plus, the mix of artificial and dried-out flowers makes a lasting display that will be nice to look at for years to come. Thanks for the inspiration!
