While I’m not a medical professional or nutritionist, some of these health changes helped me feel better. It started with my dedication to the Keto Diet last year and losing weight. While the struggle is real, it takes commitment to stay on track. Staying on track presents challenges with the onset of this pandemic, but you can do it!

We all set goals and often become despondent when we don’t meet them. That’s why setting smaller goals when starting is a great idea. Walking always helps us feel better and helps to create achievable health changes physically. If you already like to walk for exercise, try to set higher goals and walk more frequently.

More so, try parking your car a little further from your office. Plus, you can start taking the stairs instead of the escalator. Also, taking a two-minute walk every 20 or 30 minutes can positively impact your metabolism. Doing so also helps your heart rate and your reproductive system. Plus, walking more lifts your spirits and helps overcome moodiness, too.

If you never heard of free radicals, you might want to look into how they can affect your body and health. In short, free radicals can pose many health risks like cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, how we age, and many other diseases. They can damage the growth and survival of our cells and wreak havoc on our health.

When you start eating foods with antioxidants, you are fighting against the damage caused by any free radicals. Fortunately, these foods aren’t too difficult to find. For example, eating foods like beets, kale, red cabbage, beans, spinach, and raspberries can help fight free radicals.

If you find it challenging to give up refined sugars, try replacing them with Stevia instead. Stevia, derived from a natural leaf source and used to sweeten beverages and baked goods, does make a great alternative.

Personally, I use my Truvia, my favorite brand of Stevia, to sweeten my coffee, tea, and as a sugar replacement when baking. If you have any medical issues, check with a medical professional to ensure you can make the switch safely.

4 – The Art Of Chair Workouts

Sitting at a desk all day can cause you to experience health setbacks and incur future issues as well. Fortunately, chair workouts seem to resolve many health issues and can help you feel better as well.

For example, if you work in an office setting, you can take quick five-minute breaks and practice some chair exercises. You won’t need to move around too much and attract unwanted attention.

Additionally, it’s always a good idea to use body detoxification methods designed to support you through a body-cleansing process.

More so, chair-based workouts can stabilize your lower back and give you a greater range of motion. Most people can burn 120-250 calories in a half-hour workout session. These types of exercises provide health benefits and feature programs for beginners and advanced exercise.

5 – One Of The Most Important Health Changes Get Your 7 To 8 Hours Of Sleep

Sleeping right is the most powerful tool in your arsenal when it comes to having productive days. As you know, our bodies undergo a repair and rejuvenation process when we sleep. We should try our best to make sure we get at least seven hours of solid sleep a night.

Moreover, one of the most impactful ways you can sleep better is to avoid alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine before bedtime. It would help if you avoided these things at least six hours before you turn in at night.

Avoiding caffeine was one of the most powerful things I did to help sleep better. It also made such a huge difference in the overall quality of my sleep. I always try to avoid anything with caffeine and check labels to make sure, too.

Another very impactful thing I did was to install blackout cordless shades in my bedroom. I prefer cordless for ease of use and aesthetics. Keeping the sun blocked out of my bedroom completely allowed me to sleep more soundly and feel better in the mornings. I have light sensitivity, and the bright sun disturbs my sleep. Installing these shades solved my problem right away. A simple solution to a very annoying problem!

6 – Never Eat Late At Night

Eating late in the evening is very tempting, and not good for your health or sleep quality. It would help if you tried to keep a gap of two to three houses between dinner, snacking, and your sleep. Not only that, but leaving a short interval can also cause acidity, heartburn, and horrible acid reflux.

Experts say eating a light dinner will also help you sleep better at night. This way, your body will not work as hard to prepare you for sleep. Doing so can affect your memory and efficiency the next day as well.

Some experts also say eating late can cause heart disease, but the jury is still out on the question. We need much more research to understand this perplexing question completely. Most folks tend to eat meals late in the evening, and it’s essential to ask yourself if it’s healthy.

7 – Stop Comparing Yourself To Others – Health Changes That Matter

Regarding health changes, there’s one crucial thing you can do to feel better. Mental health issues grow exponentially every year, and for a good reason. At times, we spend time focusing on physical health, and we neglect our mental health.

In fact, comparing yourself to other people can adversely affect your health. The famous quote – “Comparison is the thief of joy” from Theodore Roosevelt, argues that comparing your work, your life, and everything in between will only serve to make you unhappy. While improving our physical health is essential, our mental health bears the same weight.

Do all you can to try to improve your health by making small but significant health changes. You don’t need to pressure yourself into thinking you must make changes immediately. But instead, take small steps and stay committed!
