How To Never Lose Your Open Chrome Tabs Again!
How To Never Lose Your Open Chrome Tabs Again!Do you work with multiple open Chrome tabs often and are frustrated when they close and you lose them? There’s nothing more frustrating than losing all of your open tabs in one fell swoop! There goes all of your work – and to make matters worse, you didn’t bookmark them. Help!
If you are like me, you work with multiple open Chrome tabs at one time. I generally have anywhere from 30 to 60 tabs open at once. Yes, that many. I’m always multi-tasking hopping from one tab to another and it’s important to have multiple tabs open at one time. Chrome can be a beast at times and crash especially if you have lots of tabs open like I constantly do.
We all know what happens when Chrome or your computer crashes and after you reboot you discover that Chrome didn’t save your open tabs as it promises too. Kerplunk, everything is lost! Well, stress no more! There’s an easy way to bookmark your tabs so you never lose them again.
Firstly, if you aren’t already using Chrome’s Bookmark Manager you need to install that sucker right away. It’s the easiest way to organize all of your bookmarks.
After installing it, you will see a blue star icon in the upper right-hand corner of your Chrome browser, click it and start organizing all of your bookmarks easily. It’s a terrific tip, but the one I’m about to show you truly rocks!
1 – Open your Chrome tabs – open as many as you like.
2 – Right Click on any open tab. You will see a sub-menu open.
3 – Click the “Bookmark all tabs” option – its last on the menu.
4 – Once you do, a folder will be created in your Bookmark Manager called “ALL TABS”
5 – You will then see a new subfolder called “New Folder”.
6 – Inside that new folder, all of the Chrome tabs that you currently have open will be bookmarked. As per the image below, you can see all of my multiple tabs are now bookmarked.
7 – Once your tabs are bookmarked, you can access them in an easy to get to and easy to delete place. If you don’t want to install the Chrome Bookmark Manager you don’t have to – you can still use this tip to bookmark all of your open tabs easily.
I like keeping my ALL TABS folder in my Favorites Bar in Chrome. If you don’t know how to add that to Chrome, follow the steps below.
Step 1
In Google Chrome, Click the Lines (settings) button and then Select Bookmarks > Show bookmarks bar.
Step 2 – Done!
Now the Chrome favorites bar should be completely visible just beneath the Address bar and menu buttons. If at any time you want to get rid of the Favorites bar just repeat Step 1 above or Press the shortcut keys Ctrl + Shift + B simultaneously.
Empowered with these awesome Chrome tips, you can have as many Chrome tabs as you like open and never have to worry about losing them! Every 2 or 3 days or so, I make sure to delete the old folders as I won’t be needing them anymore. You can decide how long you want to keep them!
Let me know if you have any questions in the comment section below.
