Below, you will find some of the things you need to do as soon as you decide you want to create your own blog. I wish someone had told me about these things when I started blogging. I hope you find them helpful.

1 – Social Sharing – Add social sharing to your all of your blog posts. Let your readers give you a hand by discovering and sharing your content. Use WordPress plugins like Simple Follow Me Social Buttons Widget and Simple Share Buttons Adder. Networking with other bloggers as well is key to getting your blog discovered. Of course, sign up for the big ones like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+ – be sure to share your content across all social sharing platforms consistently.

2 – Search Engine Optimization or SEO – – Learn everything you can about SEO. You may even want to initially hire a content writer who knows SEO. Install the WP plugin Yoast and learn every inch of it! It’s the best way for a newbie to be empowered and make sure SEO is properly configured. I use the WordPress plugin called Yoast. It’s free and in my opinion, simply the best that’s out there.
